Kids Play Space Invaders

December 22nd 2006 03:17
All the kids from my town, aged around 12, 13 I'd guess were hanging out in this one area. We were all playing a game called space invaders, running through the park area, full of grass trees and big dirt valleys. It was all make believe, but everyone seemed to understand the rules of the game, and imagine what worked with everyone elses imagination. There were kids running everywhere, shooting down the (sometimes visually represented) alians and spaceships. There were humans on the evil team too, the leader of whom (later revealed as another player) was bald and oily looking, almost like plastic.

He was the one who shot the leader of our brigade through the head. Then, someone yelled "Scene" and we broke character.

The dream ended with a montage of kids preparing for the next game, some with good lives, some living in misery, all brought together by the freedom and the power of imagination.

Nominations can be from any Blog, anywhere, not just in Orble, so Livejournalers, Bloggerers, Deadjournalers, Myspacers, Michael Moore and Moby (if you're listening), come in and have a shot.

John Howard
He was out! Labour had won!
First I was at home, watching TV or something. This didn't really matter as the material I was watching progressed to become the focus of the dream itself.

There was an election happening. Kim Beazly won, and I was overjoyed at the final end to Liberal rule.

However this didn't last long. Beazly made some major changes to the Industrial Relations laws, which went way too far in the other direction. This pretty much destroyed the Australian economy. Beazly was outsed by the Govenor General in much the same way as Gough Whitlam. I was shocked, and desperatly saddened. For a moment I though that Kevin Rudd should be able to save the day, but realised he'd been pushed out of the party by Beazly (yes, I realise the opposite to be true).

At this point I became confused. Eventually things kind of started becoming coheisive again with me at school, although it was fairly abiguous whether this was my school from home, or my school from Japan. I was speaking to some people there in Japanese, and spoke Japanese in my dream for the second time ever.

I ended up at a kind of grandstand listening to my teacher. The students were giving me shit, and when I was sarcastic back, the teacher shut me down. Eventually my friend came to talk to me about a school play (which seemed to be the end of year much up assembly). He was dressed in his costume, the dress Mr Macky wears in South Park, and I was kind of cut cos I wanted it to be more original.

BuzzFeed BoingBoing

December 6th 2006 23:31
Buzzfeed it a pretty darn awesome place. The theme, so far as there is one is kind of 'find your new favourite thing.'

This is pretty much the case with Boingboing, of which most people should be familiar with, to at least some extent.

Neither of these blogs, while occasionaly linking to more serious or political issues, are likely to give you anything more then a good laugh and a cheezy grin.

Like, a teenage girl guitar...

And for that, ten points.
